Samia TEFRIDJ

Samia TEFRIDJ is a translator and conference interpreter, and a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC). She is based in Maputo, Mozambique.

She holds a Masters in Conference Interpreting from the University of Ghana (PAMCIT program). Her working languages are French A, English B and Portuguese C.

With 12 years in translation and 9 in conference interpreting, Samia has built her career at the intersection of language and technology. She has trained in prompt engineering and continues to explore how AI can transform language services. Her focus: optimizing workflows, simplifying complex topics, and driving innovation.  

During her consultancy at the WHO Regional Office for Africa, she led the coordination of AIpowered translation solutions, gaining solid experience from the practices of WHO Regional offices across the globe. The last training she gave was to the Translators' and Interpreters' Association of Jamaica (TIA) during a workshop on AI in Interpreting and Translation.

After spending 2 years in Portugal and adding Portuguese to her combination, she is currently building a linguistic immersion programme in Maputo to help colleagues do the same.

Samia is the mother of 2.
